Bookmarks enable the reader to find back a place in a book to continue reading easily, or they mark important pages the reader wants to find back in the future. In both cases it marks a relationship between the reader and the book as a proof of a personal thought or moment. Especially bookmarks that stay at the same place are positioned with care – while the bookmark in contrast can be everything, even a little scrap of paper. In the project I zoom in on the bookmarks in books. The meaningful places turn into abstract structures, the original images dissolve, something new arises.
